Education Unlimited operates as a Registration Authority under the Willing Non-Resident Morinville Christian Fellowship School Board, accepting notifications (registrations) from home educating families within the Province of Alberta.
Education Unlimited has a reputation for providing encouragement, expert advice and leadership for home educating families in Alberta and across Canada.
Founders & Staff
Education Unlimited was established by Léo and Faye Gaumont in answer to the needs of parents committed to providing all the formal education for their children at home. Léo is a professional educator with over thirty years experience as well as the principal facilitator. Faye is an experienced home educating mom (grandma!) and the office administrator. The Gaumonts are experts with a long and diverse history in education. They have educated their children at home and have seen them all complete post-secondary training. Experience has taught them that a properly delivered home-based education results in a student with the attributes, attitudes and ambition needed to succeed in life.
Education Unlimited's staff are home educating parents or home educated graduates and students specializing in the natural learning approach to education. Our facilitators have or are currently home educating their children through to post-secondary.
Education Unlimited's staff is fully supportive of home education as experienced home educators and certified teachers.
Vision
Education Unlimited's founders and staff have a clear vision and passion for assisting families with home education and post-secondary pathways. The love of learning instilled by parents early in a child's development is key to continual independent motivation and lifelong learning. We believe that parents have the God-given authority and responsibility to nurture, train and provide educational experiences that meet each of their individual child's needs.

Mission
Education Unlimited's mission is to provide opportunity for parents to reclaim responsibility for the educational health and welfare of their children by supporting and encouraging them with our expertise in home education and beyond.
Education Unlimited respects the independence of parents, the uniqueness of each student and the need for individualized programming.
Home Education Support
Education Unlimited's staff is committed to helping parents accomplish the goals they have set for their children. This includes support and counseling in programming, curriculum, standardized diagnostic testing and career planning. Informative newsletters are distributed during the year. Workshops are offered as the need arises.
Education Unlimited's facilitators are available throughout the year to help and encourage you with your home education program. In keeping with current provincial regulations, facilitators visit their families twice per year.
Education Unlimited is committed to serving home educating parents who want the freedom to instruct their children as they see fit, with a minimum of encumbrances.
Home Education Expertise
Education Unlimited's staff are professionals and leaders in the field of home education. Léo Gaumont, the Director, has spent twenty-five years teaching in two provinces, within private, separate, and public systems in both rural and urban settings, covering a wide range of grades and subjects in French and English. Most of his experience involved high school level French and Biology. Although he was often praised as an excellent teacher of biology, his students remembered him more for the practical life lessons he delivered on a regular basis.
Léo Gaumont's contribution to home education includes:
- Advocating and demonstrating education success without need for diploma and credits. (since 1991)
- Clearly defining the differences between home schooling and home educating. (since 1999)
- Development and demonstration of the home education portfolio largely in use within the home education community today. (since 1997)
- Tenacious advocacy of post-secondary admission policy, processes and procedure (since 1996) has resulted in much more cooperation regarding the admission of home educated students.
- Many articles, presentations, research reports and leadership to support and encourage home education both within Education Unlimited and generally within the home education community in Alberta and across Canada.
- Most recently, he has culminated his years of post-secondary advocacy by developing a Home Education Post-Secondary Web Site designed to provide all non-accredited home educated students in the Province of Alberta and across Canada with information on how to prepare for admission to Alberta's post-secondary institutions.

Education Unlimited has shown leadership in home education, providing articles, papers, workshops, and research on a national level. The founders have been invited to speak at conferences across Canada.
Post-Secondary Expertise
Education Unlimited specializes in post-secondary advocacy and consultation for Alberta students.
Léo Gaumont is Canada's foremost researcher of post-secondary admission practices and advocate for non-accredited home educated students. His expertise is sought across Canada by both post-secondary institutions and home educated students.

Education Unlimited understands alternative post-secondary pathways for home educated students.
Funding
Education Unlimited provides home educating families with provincial funding in keeping with the current Alberta Government Grant for parent-directed home education. We acknowledge and support the educational freedom that basic funding brings to families. Unused funds are automatically carried into the next school year for returning families.
Education Unlimited has a direct billing service allowing parents to purchase educational supplies and services without involving personal funds.
Registration (Notification)
Education Unlimited accepts registrations (notifications) for home education from any location within the province of Alberta. It should be noted that to qualify for the current provincial grant, registrations (notifications) must be received before September 30 of each year.
Education Unlimited makes re-notification (renewal) easy with a simplified form.
