Selection Commences: August 1

Semester Start: May
Application Start Date: Novemeber 1
Selection Commences: November 1

The time to apply for a program depends on when the program starts. If a program is oversubscribed (more qualified applications than positions in the program), first selection will usually begin two months after the application period commences. Please refer to the information above for application timelines.

For a complete listing of oversubscribed programs and selection criteria, please visit www.sait.ca/selectioncriteria.

Qualified applications received for other programs will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis so it is important to apply early! Once all seats have been offered, qualified applicants will be placed on a waiting list according to the date applications are received.

You may apply to more than one program; however, a separate application and application fee is required for each one.

2) Check the Entrance Requirements
All full-time programs have specific admission requirements outlined in the SAIT academic calendar. The calendar, located at www.sait.ca/academiccalendar, lists the minimum standards that you must meet to be considered for a particular SAIT program.

3) Transcripts
Your application will not be reviewed until our office has received all required documentation. You must meet all of the admission requirements for the program that you are applying for. These are outlined in the academic calendar located at www.sait.ca/academiccalendar.

Home-schooled students can provide a proof ofmost admission requirements in one of the following ways:

- Complete Alberta Learning diploma exams for the admission requirements specific to the program you are applying for. Then, submit an Alberta Learning transcript with these marks reflected on it.
- Successfully pass the entrance exams offered through the testing centre at SAIT. There are entrance exams for the majority of subjects required for admission to SAIT programs. For more information, contact the testing centre at 210-4283.
Note: The entrance exams are used for SAIT admission purposes only.

Please note that a an Alberta High School Diploma or equivalent is required for admission unlessa student qualifies as a mature student. Please see Mature Students below for additional information.

4) Mature Students
An applicant may qualify as a Mature Student if they do not possess a high school diploma and the following conditions are met:

- The program they wish to apply requires a high school diploma, and
- The applicant will be 18 years old prior to the date of registration or is a serving member of the Canadian Forces, and has been out of high school for one year, and
- The applicant has satisfied all of the admission requirements or alternative courses as outlined in the program descriptions. A transcript identifying these required courses must be submitted with the application.

5) Selection Criteria
Often the number of applications for a program will greatly exceed the number of learners that can be accepted. Programs that attract more applicants than can be accepted will select the most qualified learners by considering a number of factors.
For information about selection criteria, please visit www.sait.ca/selectioncriteria.
