Home Education Admission Policy/Process/Procedure
(Last Updated 2006-02-21)

Students wishing to attend Mount Carmel Bible School must follow the application process as outlined in our Academic Calendar (available by request from our registrar), and also included on our website, www.mountcarmel.net. Among other things, prospective students must complete an application essay, have references from a Spiritual Advisor and a Friend, and complete an application interview. Prospective students must show themselves to be prepared to participate in a post-secondary classroom environment.

In lieu of provincial high school transcripts, we will assess home-educated students on an individual basis. The personal essay will serve as an initial assessment tool. At the registrar’s discretion, prospective students may be asked to write the Nelson-Denny Reading, Vocabulary and Comprehension Test in order to assess English reading and writing competency. Ideally, the student will write the test here at the school, but arrangements could be made for a proctor to supervise the exam and return it to us by mail.

Please be in contact with us directly to begin your application process. Students applying from a home-educated background should communicate their background clearly to the registrar so that we can help students make the application process as smooth as possible.
