Home Education Admission Policy/Process/Procedure
Please Note:
Directives are intended for students who lack Alberta Programs of Study Accreditation and serve only as guidelines when seeking or preparing for admission equivalents (alternatives) to Alberta 30 level requirements.
Specific admission requirements vary with programs.
SBC welcomes students who are home educated and/or have not followed a school-based program. Home educated students may be admitted on the basis of the following:
Home educated applicants are required to submit a transcript (summary of academic achievements) of their high school studies (i.e., a home-made or third party transcript). For most, this is a transcript their instructing parent prepares with courses and grades listed.
Occasionally, depending on the strength of the transcript, we may require a sample essay so that we can assess writing and critical thinking ability.
