Home Education Admission Policy/Process/Procedure
Please Note:
Directives are intended for students who lack Alberta Programs of Study Accreditation and serve only as guidelines when seeking or preparing for admission equivalents (alternatives) to Alberta 30 level requirements.
Specific admission requirements vary with programs.
Students who do not meet the normal academic requirements as stated in the calendar for admission to a specific program may be considered as:
a) Transfer Student - applicant will need to submit post-secondary transcripts showing successful completion of a minimum of three (3) post-secondary level credit courses from a publicly funded Canadian accredited institution and be in good academic standing - courses must have been completed in the last five (5) years
OR
b) Mature Student - meet the English requirement through one (1) of the following:
- successful completion of a Grade 12 English course
- successful completion of a Post-Secondary English course
- assessment
OR
c) Enroll as an Open Studies student. Upon successful complete of three (3) post-secondary courses, student can then apply to program as a "Transfer Student".
