Please Note:
Directives are intended for students who lack Alberta Programs of Study Accreditation and serve only as guidelines when seeking or preparing for admission equivalents (alternatives) to Alberta 30 level requirements.
Specific admission requirements vary with programs.
Portage College recognizes that individuals who may not follow the traditional route for education may still possess the capabilities and competencies required for our training programs through other means. Portage College recognizes the need to provide admission opportunities that are as equitable as possible for these learners, as compared to those going through regular schooling.
Process for application:
Applicants will be asked to provide a transcript/portfolio of learning for review by the Student Admissions Advisor/ Program Coordinator
Applicants may be asked to provide a writing sample (essay question)
Applicants may provide copies of any other formal assessments performed within the past 3 years (e.g., SAT exams or psychological assessments)
Applicants may be asked to submit or complete any other specific course related assessments (ie. Bio, Math, Chem, etc.) as required by the program, to be determined according to program. This will be organized as required through assistance from the Program Coordinator and/or the program Dean
