Fort McMurray - Debate Club and Ukulele Gang
Sponsor:
Hawley Olsen
Date & Time:
Monday March 4, 11, 18, 25. Time: 1:30-3:15pm
Topic:
Debate Club (Mondays, 1:30 pm)
Let's dive into some ideas! Our debate club is a friendly, informal way to practice speaking in a group, and a fun way to explore new topics. This will be a mix of talking through questions as a group, and opening the floor for show-and-tell style presentations.
We will also touch on listening skills and how to disagree well. We want to cultivate a safe, comfortable space where everyone feels welcome and supported in sharing their thoughts, so we're taking a more cooperative than competitive approach. Extra points if you've changed your mind in response to new information or a great argument!

Ukulele Gang (Mondays, 2:30 pm)
Come strum along with us! If you play already, we'd love to swap songs and share our enthusiasm for the instrument. If you are new to playing, we can get you started with the basics!
Guitar players are also welcome, but we unfortunately can't offer help with guitar playing. We do, however, have access to a couple of extra ukuleles, so if you do not have your own, you can borrow one during our uke gang time!
