- Here is some information about the Alpaca Farm as well as the farm rules they have asked visitors to follow:
Aurora Alpacas is a family-owned alpaca ranch located in Sturgeon County 10 minutes north of St. Albert. We are fairly new to the industry, having purchased our 1st two alpacas in 2017. Since then, we have produced Supreme and Color Champions, which we are extremely proud of. We currently have 24 alpacas including the 4 cria (babies) from this season.
If you are curious about alpacas, the amazing fiber products and how they are produced, come visit us to learn and experience this unique livestock firsthand.
· We will share information about alpacas such as their history, genetics, care and nutrition, shearing, fiber processing and much more. Information will be tailored to the age and interest of our visitors.
· Get a chance to ask questions, and gain 1st-hand knowledge about what makes alpacas so unique.
· Get a chance to take photos and watch them in the pasture and up close.
· Get a chance to handle fiber shorn from the alpaca this past spring, and samples from the various stages of processing fiber into yarn.
We look forward to sharing our amazing alpacas with you!
Farm Rules:
• Pets are not allowed to visit the ranch. Please leave them at home.
• Children must be supervised at all times.
• Alpaca are to be treated with respect.
NOTE: We have guardian dogs that will bark upon your arrival. They are just doing their job! Dogs are not permitted out when guests are on the ranch. They are kept in their enclosure, and we ask that you stay away from their fence at all times to minimize their stress.
